2nd one purchased. Easy to operate the slide, perfect trigger pull, fits hand perfectly, high volume magazine, low perceived recoil. And a great price for what you get.

How many magazines come with it?

BEST ANSWER: 2 magazines came with it. I’ve heard there are some lemons out there but this is my favorite hand gun I’ve owned. For the price you can’t do better

Grea 9mm Value
This is my 2nd Remington RP9. These are my favorite features: 1) The slide is very easy to operate, 2) the magazine is easy to load, 3) it has a nice high capacity magazine (18 rounds), 4) it has a very easy trigger pull, 5) the grip fits my hand like a glove and 6) it is light weight for a full sized 9 mm pistol. And it has a low price, that equals great value.

Shoots sub 1" groups at 35 feet out of the box if you are decent
I have now put 1,000 rds though mine and can address the negatives you will see on the early YouTube reviews. Some of the follow up reviews say Remington has corrected the issues. I hadn't shot anything in 24 years and saw this as an inexpensive way to get back into a hobby I loved in the past. I did have some of the issues people griped about but fixed them easily. Here is what worked:

Disassemble and give the mags a very light lube on the inside.

Don't use any grease on this, my AR loves grease, this hates it.

Load all mags fully to 18 and let them sit a week, shoot them and repeat. By the second week I had no feed issues. This works with all mags by the way. Want to get 30rds in an AR mag and have them feed correctly? Do the same thing, load fully and let them sit.

I found that my RP9 performs best using Breakfree CLP on the internal parts, this enhances the already good trigger feel in a positive way. I switched to Rem Oil on the slide and barrel. As soon as I did this it ran perfectly.

After running 30+ different types of ammo through it and over 1000 rds there have been zero issues. It eats everything. Accurately.

The most accurate FMJ has been 115gr Remington UMC. American Eagle 115gr and Browning BPT 147gr have performed under 1" as well.

The most accurate hollow points have been 115gr Remington UMC, Black Hills 124gr, Barnes TAC-XPD 115gr+p, Hornady Steel Match 125gr and Browning BXP 147gr.

Your results may vary. Inexpensive, accurate as you are and Remington mags can be found for $20 or less. It also has very light recoil allowing much quicker follow up shots and fits just about everyone's hands. My hands are large, I tried the universal Houge Handall grip and it fits the RP9 perfectly but was a bit too large for me. I settled in on the large backstrap and Tractiongrips grip tape that is custom cut for the RP9.

The only issue I had was it jammed once with some cheap ammo but it only did it once out of a 200 Rd box. I disassembled it and cleaned it and it fires just fine now. No issues and I've put about a thousand rds through it.

Underrated.
Read all the bad reviews but this gun proforms great. No issues whatever. The only negative I found to be true is the mag release doesn't work for lefties.

Remington has a winner here.
The Remington RP9 is fun to shoot and easy to maintain. It is reliable, accurate and available at a budget price. I highly recommend the Remington RP9.

unbelievable gun for the money
Recommended this to a friend who just wanted an inexpensive 9mm to keep for home defense. When he got his, and I shot it at the range, I went straight home and ordered one. The trigger is really good for a gun in this price range, or any price range for that matter. Much better than my glocks, my XD, and my M&P. Almost as good as some of my 1911's. Only disappointment is that I wanted to carry this as a duty gun with the AZ Rangers, but no one makes a level 2 retention holster for it. But, even with that, I'm really glad I bought it.
