The VP9 shares similar aesthetics with the P30, which has a direct influence on the design. However HK engineers we dissatisfied with current striker fired technology, and in particular the triggers. The VP9 trigger has a consistent pre-travel pull with a positive crisp break, while the trigger reset is short and fast making follow up shots a breeze.
