The first model produced by the Czech manufacturer CZUB, The CZ 75 was released in 1975. As one of the most successful pistols of the modern era, the CZ 75 is the model of choice for many law enforcement and military personnel throughout the world. The semi-automatic became an instant hit. It’s both reliable and accurate thanks to its excellent balance.  There are dozens of variants of the CZ 75 today, among which are tactical, sport, and compact models.

  • The full-size pistol is eight inches long and has a 4.7-inch barrel. It weighs about the same as an M1911 at 2.47 pounds. It has a steel frame and slide and the standard capacity is sixteen plus one rounds, but you can get magazines that hold up to twenty.
  • The CZ 75 is a single action/double action pistol with a frame-mounted safety.
  • Because you can carry the CZ 75 cocked and locked, CZ added a firing pin block to the CZ 75B in the 1990s to prevent it from discharging on a hammer drop while the safety was on.
  • You can place the CZ 75 at half-cock, but only for field stripping and manual decocking. This isn’t the safety position and does not allow you to decock the firearm fully.
  • The CZ 75D is a decocking version with a decocking lever in place of the manual safety, allowing you to operate the pistol like a service 9mm with double action on the first shot and then single action follow-ups.

CZ 75 Tactical

THE CZ 75 Tactical Sport weighs 2 ¾ pounds loaded, which is a substantial 9mm. It allows for rigidity and muzzle rise. This produces a nicely balanced pistol that remains on target for fast and accurate follow-up shots. With competition hardware, a 5.4-inch steel barrel, and a sight radius of 7 ⅜ inches, you’ll find that the CZ 75 Tactical makes even the most average shooters look like seasoned marksmen. Guns & Ammo reviewed the CZ 75 Tactical Sport model and had this to say:

Like a traditional target pistol, the CZ 75 Tactical Sport boasts a substantial weight (2¾ pounds unloaded) for added rigidity and reduced muzzle rise. Don’t let the added weight intimidate you; the extra heft results in a balanced handgun that points where you want to deliver firepower and stays on target for quick follow-up shots that stay in the “A” zone. Competition-inspired hardware continues into the upper components of the CZ 75 Tactical Sport with a 5.4-inch stainless steel barrel that is .7 inch longer than the standard CZ 75B. The longer barrel invites an extended slide and a sight radius of 7 3/8 inches. With the combination of target-style sights and a low bore axis, the CZ 75 Tactical Sport will make average handgunners shoot like experienced marksmen. (

”I've been waiting for this gun to become available after being out of stock everywhere in the it in and immediately I got an email, I purchased it on a Friday and it was at my FLL on Monday. Great service and the gun was perfect, I love the grip and accuracy of my CZ.” - Bangkok Bob

CZ 75 Compact

If you’re looking for a concealed carry pistol, look no further than the CZ 75 Compact. It comes with features you would expect to see on a full-size gun in a small but powerful package. It has a large manual safety and a decocker with a wide double-stack grip. The steel frame makes it a bit heavier than some other compact pistols, but it combats recoil, making you more comfortable and more accurate. Gun Digest said, "For those who are shopping for a concealed carry gun, the CZ 75 Compact has all of the features you’d expect from the full-size gun like SA/DA operation, a large manual safety and decocker, and a wide, double-stack grip. The 75 Compact comes with a steel frame, which is slightly heavier than other carry pistols in the CZ line (about 33 ounces), but that weight helps reduce recoil."

”This handgun is one of the best ergonomically designed firearms I have ever had the pleasure to hold. To say that it is comfortable to handle is a huge understatement. Accurate, dependable, and a joy to shoot! Love it!” - Tedd T.
