Ammo pressure and speed. .223 ammo is lower pressure but same form factor. Nato is higher pressure. Also there are 2 different NATO 5.56 types. M193 which is range allowed, and M855 which has steel in the bullet and isnt allowed at most ranges.
I was told by a gunsmith That you should not use 5.56 in a gun rated for .223… just saying
military equivalent of an otherwise dimensionally identical civilian cartridge
.556 case is thicker and pressure is too high to be used in a gun designed for .223 rem. You can shoot .223 Rem in a .556 Nato barrel but not vice versa. Would not risk it.
556 is slightly heavier and has more Velocity i believe
You bet it is.
One box
This is m193 ammo. You just may have the 200rd number

Decent ammo but winchester says never received rebate info. If you are buying because of rebate, be aware winchester may not honor. I have never had problems with any other companies rebate offers.
Got this on sale plus a rebate from winchester. feeds and shoots reliably in my Ruger AR-556 MPR. Wish I could get the same deal again.
