I find the bolt release stock from the factory to be too small. I originally bought the Wilson Combat oversized bolt release, but it fell off at the range and I didn't notice. Now it's gone forever. So I'm trying the larger, more prominent Troy release, which is a different design and similar to Magpul's BAD release, but I liked the reviews the Troy got on youtube videos. Plus, the Troy has two connection points, not just one like the Magpul and Wilson models.

I'm right handed, left-eye dominant so I shoot my rifle off my left hand. I heard/read nothing but good reports/reviews of this device. Anything that helps the efficiency of weapon manipulation for a right-handed weapon is a no-brainer for me.

Works nicely!
I have a couple ambidextrous Patriot Ordinance Factory rifles with ambidextrous features, and the best feature is having the bolt release on the right side and the catch at the front of the trigger. This provides both options on a regular AR. Lock the bolt back with a bit of upward pressure from your trigger finger on the bottom, and release it by pressing in at the right side with the pad of your trigger finger. I was worried it would snag or get in the way but it hasn't yet.

Better than other brands
I really like the Troy Ambi Bolt Release. It looks and fits better than the Magpul Bad Lever which can be very loose if installed as instructed. And it works like it's supposed to.
