Developed in 1937 by Mauser, the HS stands for Hahn Selbstspann (self-cocking hammer) and the C stands for the third revision before production. Almost all of the pre-WW II pistols were used by the German military and will be marked WAA. The pistol was well designed and manufactured and had a commercially pleasing appearance.
