Questions And Answers

Will Browning Hi-Power magazines function in this ?

Asked by Benny on Jan 12, 2023

Yes, hi-power mags will work in the sa-35. When I received mine, I compared the individual parts with those of a late model fN/Browning Hi-Power and the only SA-35 parts that were not compatible with the Hi-power were the hammer and the trigger, both of which underwent significant re-engineering. In general the SA-35 will accept most hi-power parts, but going from SA-35 to Hi-power the reverse is less predictable and would require gunsmith fitting.

Answered by Anonymous on Jan 12, 2023

Yes. I have an original magazine from the 40's that works just fine and 2 after market for original high power with lower capacity and they all work perfectly together .

Answered by Anonymous on Jan 13, 2023

Yes, as far as I know, but I bought my extras from SA. I recall reading that some gun authors used some Hi Power maGs for their eval

Answered by Anonymous on Jan 12, 2023

Without a doubt, the mags are INTERCHANGEABLE. I have the Sa-35, an 80s hp and the tisas Clone. The mags run the same in all.

Answered by Anonymous on Jan 13, 2023

Yes, original hi-power mags will work in the springfield armory sa-335.

can you purchase a extra mag for the sa 35?

Asked by timothy on Jun 21, 2023

Yes, you can purchase extra sa mags from sa and/or various others. Also, many of the older 13 round browning mags will fit and function well.

Answered by Anonymous on Jun 21, 2023

Yes, i purchased two magazines from Springfield armory’s website. They were in stock at the time.

Can you install night sights?

Asked by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

Yes. Both front and rear sights are dovetail and can be pushed out and replaced by a competent gunsmith. Sights must be compatible, specifically, with the SA-35 platform. Sights for FN/Browning Hi-Power pistols will not fit this slide.

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

I see no reason why you couldn't. The existing sights are dovetailed into the slide, so with a sight removal tool they should slide out. You would just need to find compatable replacements.

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

XS sights makes one. Its currently backordered to sometime in february. I dont think they recommend a pusher for install. Xs sights are impressive, i have them on my glock 30s.

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

No reason why you can't if you can find something compatible with the sa-35 or hi-power.

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

No problem . I mounted TruGlo sights on my SA35 some time ago , no problems >

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

Will this use any Browning HP factory or aftermarket parts like grips.sights.magazines ?

Asked by Anonymous on Oct 27, 2021

i can confirm thAt the Crimson Trace Laser Grips for the Browning Hi-Power fit perfectly on mine. I would therefore assume tHat most griPs For the Hi-Power will fit the SA-35.

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 12, 2022

I know slide and mags are interchangeable. I imagine grips will be

Answered by Anonymous on Oct 29, 2021

I completely disassembled both The SA-35 and a browning high power to the parts level And compared what was compatible. I can confirm that the only parts that were not compatible between the two platforms were the front and rear Internal parts, grips, Magazines, the slide stop, safety lever, even slides could be exchanged and remain fully functional.

Answered by Anonymous on May 1, 2022

According to springfield armory, most parts are interchangable. But remember that this is made to tighter tolerances than the original, so barrels would most likely not be interchangable.

Answered by Anonymous on Nov 1, 2021

browing guide rod and springs fit like a glove, slide stop as well

Answered by Anonymous on Jan 12, 2023

Hello Is there a safety in the handle like a 1911? Does it have a double trigger

Asked by Anonymous on Apr 22, 2023

Safety is on the frame like most 1911. single action only like a 1911. Since it doesn't have a grip safety, I would hesitate to carry cocked and locked. But that's just me.

Answered by Anonymous on Apr 29, 2023

No grip safety and single action only.

Answered by Anonymous on Apr 23, 2023

Is there an ambidextrous safety available?

Asked by Anonymous on Jan 24, 2023

No ambis here. This pistol is a physical re-creation of the original P-35. You might check FN’s new version

Answered by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

I'll be getting one also but blew 2 grand on a 21 and gen 5, 19. Added optica etc. Next will be the sa 35. I go way back to when these were carried a lot by leo's and concealed carriers In my 75 years I have collected over 100 guns, and I keep going back to glocks, because in half a dozen instances where I needed my gun, I knew the glock 17 or 19 was going to go bang. Can't be said about most other guns except revolvers where I started.

Answered by Anonymous on Jun 18, 2023

So are these still turkish made guns being "re finished"  in the USA? Shameful if so.

Asked by Glonk on Aug 26, 2023

Best data says these are imported from Turkey as mostly finished frames and slides typical of sa. But this is still a better option than the new "improved" HP from fn.

Answered by Anonymous on Oct 1, 2023

Is there a California version of this gun?

Asked by Anonymous on Dec 3, 2021

Nope, and there never has been, probably never will be. I don't think browning would allow it. in fact, i know they wouldn't. if you don't know what you are looking at, i'll be happy to fill in somethings for you; because not only are you looking at a master piece of art & design, you are also looking at one, of the two automatic pistols, that all other automatic pistols are patterned after to one extent or another. The browning 1911, and the browning 1935 hi power. John browning was hands down the most prolific weapons DESIGNER the world has ever known. you could put all other gun designers that have ever lived together, and they wouldn't even scratch the surface of john BROWNING's life work. he invented both the pump, and automatic shotguns, and many, i mean many of the winchester rifles, and other colt pistols. light, medium and heavy machine guns for the US military. I live close to the browning family MUSEUM in ogden, utah and I've owned 5 hi-powers, and probably 10 of his 1911's from different manufactures. but the 1935 hi-powers are DEFINITELY my favorite. They are works of art & design carved out of belgium steel, in a world of chopped up, and ACCESSORIZEd cheap plastic super guns. hope that helps.

No rails to attach your Star Wars gear

Rated 5 out of 5 stars by Anonymous on Dec 3, 2021

This is a great continuation of the Hi-power history. The updates are just right with the sights, trigger and grips. The thinner grips make the gun feel less heavy and awkward to point and shoot. With a great matte finish, made of steel and walnut grips, it's a gun for grownups. Fit and finish is first rate, there's no "almost fits... fits but" going on here. Springfield ships with one magazine, so buy a few more. I do wish it still had the ambidextrous safety. There's no apologies with polymer or goofy rails to attach your Star Wars gear.

SA 35

Works great right out of the box and accurate. I have several after market mags for original high power and they work flawlessly. The quality is just awsome. The improvements sa made make it dream to shoot. Haven't found anything I don't like about it. Shoots anything I have put in it.

Faithful Re-creation

Rated 5 out of 5 stars by Anonymous on Feb 16, 2023

SA’s version of the ‘35 is pretty good here. This is not meant to be a modern fighting pistol; no cutout for optics, no rail, no poly or alloys- just a steel pistol.. a faithful version of the original hi-power, with a few improvements. No magazine safety, better barrel and feed ramp that handles modern ammo. My only complaint is lack of true blued finish- the matte is ok, its serviceable. Sa has a habit of limiting the releases, so this one while you can!

Nice updated version of the Browning Hi-Power. My only complaint is that it comes with only a single 15 round magazine. White dot front sight and blacked out rear sight. Good single action trigger. Adequately sized controls.
