Although their name has been in the firearm industry since the late 1800's, Iver Johnson reinvented their production line in 2003. Today they are major importer of various firearm platforms and, more notably, 1911 style handguns. The Eagle XLC is their Long Slide, 6" barrel, sized 1911 with many features currently desired by competition shooters.
This model is very ergonomic with its forward slide serrations, extended thumb safety, extended slide release, and beavertail style grip safety. The Iver Johnson Eagle XLC also uses a LPA style adjustable rear sight. If you're looking for a supped up 1911 handgun at a reasonable price, the Iver Johnson Eagle XLC is the answer!
