Unlike some of the information being passed along by the media, the semi-automatic rifle is not, in fact, a machine gun. A semi-automatic firearm fires just a single bullet with each pull of the trigger. This is different from a machine gun, which continues to fire rounds as long as the trigger is depressed. That means that a semi-automatic, as the name would suggest, is not the same as an automatic firearm, because there is no “spray firing.” Therefore, a semi-automatic rifle serves essentially the same function as any other firearm, except for cosmetic differences (specifically, the stock), which makes a standard rifle look like a military weapon.
Those with an adequate firearm education know that semi-automatic rifles make wonderful tools for hunting big game. As technology has advanced, these rifles have overcome some of their initial shortcomings and have become excellent choices both for hunting and for range use.
Of course, today’s hunter should make his rifle selection based on his own hunting style (not to mention the game that he seeks). If you need assistance in making your selection, please contact the customer service staff at GrabAGun.com. We are happy to help, and to make sure that the rifle you choose will be the right one for your purposes.
