I already have (and like) the PPQ and wanted to get the P99 for its ability to decock and be used in a DA/SA manner.

This gun is the best. So much James Bond fun in such a tiny package.

have not shot it yet. been carrying it in my front pocket slacks. i'm 6'5" the gun fills my entire pocket, the butt doesn't stick out. have to wear a belt or pants will sag. very stiff trigger in the decock mode, Good, I won't shoot my junk off in my pocket. very short re set, been dry firing it.

Superb handgun!
I've had my P99 for several years and it's been 100% reliable. The trigger/decocker seems to be the desiding factor.People either hate it or love it.If those who dislike would give it some time, they just might change their mind. The P99 has the shortest reset that I'm aware of.....and I've shot many, many, different handguns. It's also the safest striker handgun IMO.

You Cannot get a Better Pistol Unless you get a cu
I've found only 2 problems with either the 9mm or .40 S&W versions & the SW99 in .45acp. #1 you will blow your ammo budget in no time at all & if you spend.a bit of time developing the muscle memory for mag release you will have one heck-uva duty, CCW, or home defense pistol. I've only had 1 other pistol out of the box this accurate, a 659 S&W had to give wife #1 so she would sign divorce papers.

THE Primo Polymer Pistol!
This is the 3rd Walther P99 I've owned and, like the other 2, there have been no malfunctions. I believe this was the first pistol to offer exchangeable backstops and it feels great in the hand. The trigger has 3 modes: single action, double action and anti-stress, and it is easy to convert between them without firing the gun. HK hasn't produced a single action trigger pull this good since their P7. It is even way better than the Walther PPQ trigger, which is the best of the Glock-type triggers. There is a flush fitting decocker that can't catch on anything. Fit and finish are first rate. P99s have been around since 1997 and are still going strong on the international market, Finland, which adopts military firearms of the AK type, required for their brutally cold temperatures, has adopted it as their military sidearm. This is a true classic that has been largely ignored by the American market, probably because Walther relies on James Bond to do their advertising for them!

Another home run for Walther. My favorite pistol, wonderful to shoot, you won't be sorry you purchased it
The P99 is a fantastic 9mm handgun and GrabAGun's ease of purchase, shipping, web site are all wonderful. The P99 can be used for concealed carry, but its design is a "duty pistol", so it can be a bit large for some shooters. The DA/AS/SA trigger is brilliant: DA first shot (using the decocker), or AS not decocked; then a crisp SA trigger pull. Sorry, sounds confusing I know, but it's a cinch once you get to shoot it. It's also very accurateand I've had no issues, malfunction, FTE, FTF using all types of ammo. You should get this pistol if you want a high capacity 9mm with accuracy, reliability, and a sweet trigger.

Amazing handgun!
I bought this P99 a few months back and it is awesome. It is extremely ergonomic. The trigger in single action is light and crisp with a super short reset. How short? The shortest I've ever felt on any handgun besides a great 1911 trigger. (I have multiple srt SIGs and a PPQ, so that's saying something) It is very accurate as well and has had no issues of any kind. The build quality is on par with other German handguns (terrific) and better than your typical Glock, M&P, or XD. This is a world class handgun. I would put it up there with SIG and HK. Grabagun was also great. I paid for it on a Monday qnd it was at my FFL dealer on TUESDAY! WOW! I HIGHLY recommend this P99 AS and Grabagun!!

Walther does it again!
First, my experience with Grabagun was great. That's why I keep coming back even though I can find guns priced a few dollars lower sometimes. As for the P99 AS, it is an excellent weapon. I have two Walther PPXs in 9mm & .40 and they both have been great. The P99 is more elegant, sleek and just as dead on accurate. This will become my main carry weapon.

Great pistol love it!

Excellent value!
The P99 is a fine pistol, with many excellent qualities to recommend it. I would suggest anyone looking for a full-size pistol to give this, or the PPQ, their consideration. I own both the AS and QA models, and I'm equally pleased with both. Walther continues to produce quality firearms, at affordable prices.

As the duty pistol for law enforcement agencies in North America, Europe and Asia, the P99 has endured the harshest operating conditions a handgun will ever see. What’s more, its ergonomics and engineering have evolved subtly in response to feedback from agencies over the years. The P99 is truly a world class handgun for professionals who must trust their lives to a firearm.
