Great pistol even for EDC
Picked this up on sale for $167.99.Very Surprised at this 709 slim, Arrived in 2 days after they shipped it. I cleaned the factory lubricant and took it straight to the range. Fired 200 rounds through it within an hour and NOT one malfunction. I bought it as a plinker but let me tell you, I'm very confident with this for edc so i'm going to rotate between this and my Glock 27

Simply awesome!
Awesome handgun and excellent price. Being my 1st handgun and the 1st time I've been to a firing range, it was fantastic. 26 of 28 hits within the area I was aiming (headshots, being a zombie fan) this was extremely accurate, easy to fire and handle. I would definitely recommend this as a perfect firearm to those starting out with handguns.

Poor Quality Control
I bought my Taurus 709 slim locally. The description here on grabagun doesn't seem to match the pistol. It's striker fired and has an adjustable rear site. I couldn't get 2 consecutive rounds to fire in mine without a jam. I bought a ProMag 8 rnd. magazine for it and that solved that problem. Took it to the range and it shoots 7 inches low at 25 ft. with the rear site elevation adjustment maxed out. I cleaned it again and took it back to the range and got the same results. I called Taurus and they were very nice and told me there were 3 front sites for this model and they were going to send me a new one that was lower. They sent me one that was exactly the same as the one it came with but with the mounting screw hole stripped and it couldn't be tightened down. I have called them again and they are going to send me the other two sights they have for this pistol. If that fixes the problem I'll update this review.

Don't let the price fool you, This is a great value!
Frankly I only bought this gun to have in my desk drawer, for the price I didn't expect a lot. Also the first I have bought on-line. Very pleasantly surprised with this little gun and teh service from this company! I have run maybe 500 FMJ through with only one misfeed - and that was in the first 50. My only issue is the grip is a bit short for my XL hands but that was expected. I have purchased two additional mags and extended grips that work perfectly. With just a little practice I find this gun is quite accurate and at 15 yards can usually put 50 in a 5 inch or less grouping. For a weapon this size I am very happy and will likely buy at least on more. I now use this as my daily carry.

GrabAGun Great - Taurus Slim Great
Great Place, GrabAGun. Easy to order and quick service. Had my weapon within a week.
Took the weapon to the range the same day. Tired some reloads and it was a disaster. Rounds hung up, would not cycle - had to chamber a round after every shot. Stopped after a couple of magazines then switched to my Tula Steel Cased 9mm. Every round fired - no issue. Rounds cycled fine, no hang ups, stove piping - nothing. Pulled out the info on the Slim to find out that Taurus expressly states that you should not use reloads in this weapon. I had a KelTec P11 and it fired the reloads with no issue but there was just something that wasn't right with the KelTec so I sold it and picked up the Taurus. Contacted Taurus with a few questions and got my answers the same day.
I would recommend the Slim without hesitation especially since it has that double strike capability. Won't buy a semi auto without that capability.
Slim has a good feel, quality and fires well. It's relatively light and is easy to carry and that is a good thing. Picked this up with shipping for $210 - FFL Transfer $30.00 - total cost $240.00 - GREAT DEAL!!!

A KEPT SECRET IN THE FIREARM CONCEALMENT DEPARTMENT
I am pleasantly surprised with this firearm. Very well made, great ergonomics on the hand. I thoroughly cleaned, oiled the gun and took it to the range today. After 100 rounds no failures at all. Recoil more manageable than expected for a pistol this size. Bought a 2nd magazine (nowadays easy to find) and pearce grip extensions. I will order an ATS sight set to replace the stock. Very happy with the price/value ratio on this gun.

Nice price, great carry gun!
Thought long and hard about what to buy for a 9mm carry gun, and this is what i purchased. Coming from the Taurus TCP738 I LOVE THEM BOTH! The 709 slim design makes it comfortable to wear IWB, desantis holster. Light weight makes it easy to carry. Sights work better for me than standard glock 42 sights. Trigger takes some getting used to but could hit the bulls eye easily right out of the box. Have 150 rounds through mine with no failures so far! Worn around the house until I get 300 rounds through it. Glad I got it instead of the glock 43. Would, won’t have to, buy another one!
Remember that this gun is around mid-two hundred dollars, sights are adjustable up/down and left/right, great trigger- around 5.5lb, and reliable out of the box! All for this price!

Excellent bang for your buck
I was going to buy the Kel Tec PF9 or this Taurus 709. After checking out features I bought the Taurus 709 slim from Grabagun at $296. Best price. I like the additional level safety. You can use it or carry like a Glock with safety off. It has firing pin trigger block same as Glock. Took this gun out to the range and run 50 rounds thru it and was really impressed on how good this gun shoots. Same design as a Glock but $250 cheaper. Gun functioned flawless. Love the light 5lb trigger pull. Fits in my back pocket. Same size as the PF9. You can't beat this gun for value and accuracy. That's why you can't find one for sale.
