ANOTHER WINNER FROM RUGER & PERHAPS THE BEST
The SR1911 9mm is a pleasure to hold and to shoot, with extremely mild recoil. The trigger is very crisp. As much as I like my .45 ACP full-size and commander-size SR1911s, I think the 9mm could wind up being my favorite. Also, it is very well suited for EDC. My five-star rating, however, is given reservedly only because out of more than 80 rounds fired in my only range trip with my new SR1911 9mm, I had one FTF. (Otherwise, the pistol performed flawlessly.) If that FTF was due to a bad primer, the five star rating stands solidly. If it was due to a light strike, I'd remove one star and send the pistol back to Ruger for repair. (In my experience, Ruger customer service has been excellent.) I'll be back at the range with the pistol this weekend, hoping for -- and expecting -- zero malfunctions.

If you don't have a 9mm 1911, you should have this one
Absolutely LOVE this gun! It ran perfectly right out of the gate, but I did do a couple minor upgrades. I put thicker Ruger logo wood grips on mine (personal preference, not necessary), and also replaced the factory 10# recoil spring with a 14# spring, as the slide felt a bit "lazy" when cycling. The recoil spring is the only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars, but this was completely subjective on my part, and super easy to swap out. Plenty accurate, and the recoil is extremely pleasant. This Ruger is everything fun about the 1911 platform, with the affordability of 9mm ammo. It has earned a permanent spot in my range bag.

Excellent value and reliability
I ordered this from Grab-a-Gun in Aug of 2016. I'm more of a revolver guy, but appreciate the 1911 for its history, shootability, and accuracy. Thought I would take a chance with this latest Ruger SR1911 commander in 9mm, as the price was excellent, and 9mm target ammo is very affordable. And WOW, was I very pleasantly impressed with this purchase. Trigger exceeded my expectations (and keeps getting better with use), and it has been utterly reliable in every way. I did change the grips to slightly thicker Ruger rosewood logo grips, and swapped the stock 10# recoil spring for a 14# spring (the slide felt just a bit lazy when cycling). Super easy to shoot and shoot well, reliable, accurate, and easy on the wallet, both with the purchase and at the range. I like that it has a nice, simple, clean look to it. This has earned a permanent spot in my range bag, and makes me smile every time I put it through the paces.

Another Great Ruger Product
I bought this as a gift for my wife. This 1911 is a nice looking pistol and a good deal for the money. My wife put 150 rounds through it and no issues whatsoever. Swapped out the stock grips for some VZ ones (get standard, not thin) and had some TruGlo sights installed. My wife loves it and we'reooking forward to more range time!
