• The Remington 1911 is a style of semi automatic pistol introduced in 1911 by a man named John Moses Browning. He wanted to design a pistol like the .45 Colt, but with autoloading capabilities.
• At first, it was heavily used by the military. It could be operated with one hand while riding horseback and the grip safeties were created so the pistol didn’t discharge when dropped.
