The Gemtech Aurora is a classic suppressor utilizing time tested technology. The Aurora is a micro 9mm suppressor that employs an entirely wet environment for maximum suppression in a compact package. These suppressors were originally designed and produced in 1995 for pilots to use in their E&E kits. The idea was that if a pilot was shot down and had to wait for rescue, they would hide and only use their sidearm if necessary. The Aurora would come in handy for these close encounters and negate the chance of attracting more undue attention from the gunshots.
The current batch of Auroras were developed in response to a government request that was only partially filled. Due to the nature of these suppressors Gemtech has teamed up with Silencer Shop to educate our customers and provide them the chance to own one of these historical designs.
The Aurora uses 8 "wipes" placed inside of the tube and held apart by aluminum spacers. There is no booster/Nielsen device as the suppressor is light and small enough that most (virtually all) modern handguns will still cycle with the suppressor mounted directly to the barrel. The wipes are a disposable item and (in our testing) last for 8-12 rounds before becoming uncomfortable to shoot. As such, this suppressor is not intended for "range use." It is however a really cool addition to a bug-out-bag or nightstand pistol.
DO NOT USE HOLLOW POINT OR EXPANDING AMMO WITH THIS SUPPRESSOR
