In the post-War years, as 1911s became increasingly common in the civilian market, shooters and custom shops found new ways to upgrade their .45s. Uncle Sam’s original spec sheet was a one-size fits all. But the 1911-loving public quickly figured out that America’s favorite autoloader could be improved with customization. The Loaded Series from Springfield Armory® brings you the culmination of those lessons. These pistols are Loaded with all the features a 1911 should have.
Whether you’re looking for a pistol to use for target practice or home defense, you’ll appreciate the extended ambidextrous thumb safety found on all Loaded 1911s. Likewise, the ergonomic beavertail grip safety, lightweight delta hammer and extended trigger enhance handling and performance in any situation. But not every feature does all jobs, and so the Loaded Series is a diverse lineup. The variety of finishes, frames, calibers and sights means that there is a Loaded 1911 designed to handle your intended application.
If you’re ready for a 1911 that brings you upgraded features without a custom shop price tag, look into the Loaded Series.

- Excellent 1911 Purchase
This is my first 1911 -- with the price offered and the extras included by SA, I couldn't resist the purchase. I was very happy with the service from Grabagun (it took me longer for my FFL to process the gun -- 3days -- after receiving it than it did for it to be delivered -- 2days). I took it to the range and shot 100 rounds through it (Magtech and S&B 230gr FMJ) with both the stock mags as well as one Wilson Combat magazine I purchased. I had one stovepipe on the last round using the factory mag while doing some quick firing but I don't count that against the 1911. It worked great and I was surprised how comfortable it was to shoot. Once becoming experienced with the takedown and cleaning process, I actually enjoy going through that after a day at the range. I've since purchased more Wilson Combat magazines as the stock ones are very bare bones. With this price and the extras offered as well as the upgrades in the "loaded" model, this is a great pistol to add to your collection.
- Grab a Gun and Springfield 1911 Loaded
I have a friend that has this gun and the MC operator and Trp all nice gun but based on the cost of this weapon. How can you go wrong, just as sexy half the price. The gun itself feels like it was made for my hand and shoots like butter. Nice pattern at 15 and 25 yds
Grab a Gun is now my go to site for all of my needs, quick, easy and quite a discount to any of the shop in 100 miles of me.
- 1911 Springfield Armory Loaded
This is a very accurate and well built gun.
- Great except mfg flaw in face of hammer
The pistol is exactly like the reviews I read before purchasing and the price was great.
However, there is the proverbial "but".
Upon close inspection, I found a small "crater" in the face of the hammer. Using the sharpie method, I determined that the crater was not located where the hammer hits the firing pin.
My concern is whether the crater will cause uneven wear on the slide surface that slides across it during the cocking process.
My low quality rating is because this hammer should never have passed even a cursory QR. I own several SA pistols and this is the first one that came from factory flawed. I am still investigating what my options are since returning a lower is such a pain and expensive proposition for us legal, law abiding citizens. Dan
