These Rifles are awesome and will take any conditions from the swamps of Florida to the desserts of New Mexico, serving as a daily carry weapon on land that I have in both States. I have submerged it in water, filled it with sand in storms after getting caught out on the ranch in South West New Mexico. Never stopped working. I have shot boar, coyote, Whitetail Dear, rattle snakes and at a few people who were shooting at me on the U.S./Mexican Border ( Wild Place with drug running and illegal alien entry). This rifle has never let me down. I own four different types of AR-15 (Sig Sauer, Custom Built out of Billeted Aluminum upper and lower with stainless steel fluted barrel, Palmetto State Armory Freedom Carbine Premium with Stainless barrel, Windham Weaponry MPC Mil-Spec M-4) and a Norinco Mak-90 and RAS AK-47 w/ Magpul MOE both in 7.62x39 mm, and none of these rifles are as accurate, reliable, and robust as this Ruger Mini-14 in 5.56. The only thing that I would advise is too only use Ruger factory magazines, aftermarket are not 100%, only use on the shooting range not the "Range". This model rifle has saved my rear on more than one occasion and the rest of my collection only see daylight on a trip to the shooting range with the kids, the real work gets done by the Ruger and Ruger makes, stuffed with Lake City green tip 62 grain ammunition. Never has this combo failed me at all!!!!!!!!!!
Great rifle. Was excited that it came with two 20rd magazines. Grabagun shipped it quickly.
- Great rifle!
had my Mini 14 for several years, put a couple thousand rounds through it at least. No problems with any ammo I fed it. If they followed the rest of the Mini's with this one, it is good for 5.56 ammo too! There are alot of .223s out there that you should not shoot 5.56 military ammo out of because of the higher pressures with military ammo.
- Excellent Rifle
Bought one of these rifles from Grabagun in February 2012. Fired about 200 rounds through it so far. An excellent rifle. Shot at a 100 yard range and was fairly accurate (was able to easily hit a basketball sized target at that distance with only ironsights which is good enough for me). Did not have a single misfire or jam on any of the magazines or different ammo I tried. Beware how the shell casings eject from the rifle (not a problem just caused some laughs)...this rifle launches them about 20 feet to your right. My dad had to move from where he was watching because I kept hitting him in the head with the casings.
