- Im very happy
Just got it this morning and I just mounted in the Magpul Hunter 700 Stock. It was literally 2 screws and I was done in about 60 seconds. It looks amazing and it feels great.
- Good rifle in need of additional work and key components to meet minimum requirements for service.
Min Requirements: 1MOA for 3 shot string, threaded bbl <24", robust/reliable platform.
Intended use: rapid deployment, designated 7.62 marksman, short to medium range, urban terrain, suppressed
Had to call Remington Tech Support (Lisa easy to contact and very helpful) as the Xmark "Pro" trigger would not adjust lower than 4.25 lbs. She indicated only 0.5 adjustment range and not less than 4lbs. by design due to liability issues. Basic Build Cost: Potentially useful R700 $600 + replacement precision trigger $200 + Precision scope base $200 + AAC 51T $200 = $1200. Assume no bipod and no excessive forend pressure on weak Hogue stock. $1200 later you might be ready for rings, optic, and suppressor. Some Options: Tikka T3 CTR $900 + 51T $200 = $1100 optic/rings/suppressor ready. Comes with precision pic base, exc. adjustable trigger, and fully functional stock. Savage 10FCP-SR $700 + 51T =$900 optic, suppressor ready, and box mag that might stay put in rifle. Prices and labor may vary but the R700 which needs the most work might be the best pick if one finds the Hogue stock marginally acceptable. If not, add at least $300 for total of $1500+ for R700 meeting min requirements.
- Beware of Grab-A-Gun
Grab a gun had the ability to return the rifles from Remington that fit the description of a recall, but instead chose to sell them anyway. I am one of the people that just received my 700 SPS rifle, and had to make plans to ship it off to be fixed. I called Remington thinking it was there fault, but they told me that EVERY seller had the opportunity to return the faulty rifles and they would be fixed. GRAB-A-GUN apparently chose to keep them, and push the problem on to their "valued customer" instead of showing any integrity and taking due diligence.
- buyer beware...
rifle arrived today. The ONLY thing I am pleased with concerning this transaction is grabaguns service. The rifle itself is NOT "Ghilli Green", but "Ghilli Grey" with NO green anywhere in the stock. But that is not the best part. The rifle is part of the trigger recall, so I must now send the rifle back to Remington so it can be fixed. Thanks Remington, you just lost a customer. It is too bad this giant company could not address the trigger recall head on, and recall ALL UNSOLD RIFLES THEMSELVES that fit between the production dates. They would rather get the sale, then have the customer have to go through hoops. Not something I would expect from one of the firearms giants of America.
- Nothing more needs to be said it's a Remington 700 SPS love it!!!
Absolutely an awesome rifle ...nothing more to say it's a Remington and is completely modifiable from top to bottom. I put a Leupold VXR 3-9x40 firedot with weaver low tactical rings and 20moa rail and a Harris bipod...also Comes ready for a suppresser!!! couldn't ask for better!!
