Satisfied.
Originally I wanted a para p14 but then I saw this RIA and had to have it. I already have one RIA 1911 MS and found the quality to be better than my colt officers model. The quality and feel of the RIA 2011 hi cap 45 are awesome. How ever mine dosent look exactly like the gun in the pic. The grips are different and it dosent have The RIA banner down the slide just a small RIA logo near the rear, I think overall it looks cleaner and aesthetically better. Also got in it in around 7 days under the shoot now play later program. This is my 2nd purchase from grabagun.com and now the only site I go to for Guns.

Outstanding!
After much research, I purchased this firearm for my wife. Grabagun had it to my FFL in three days. I was very impressed when I opened it. As I figured it is not as picture but as I wanted. It comes with VZ operator grips with the RIA logo small and on the left rear of the slide. In the box is one mag, two spent casings, manual, any warranty card. That's it.
Stripped it, cleaned, and function tested it. Even more impressed. Aside from the grips, there is no plastic at all. Has a full length SS guide rod. Some reviews (the few I found for this model #51567) stated plastic for guide rod and mag release, but not so. The parker finish is as good as parkerizing gets. The ambi safety, disassembly/ slide catch lever, and bushing appear to have an anodized finish but all steel. The barrel is not match grade. The fit of all is tight and smooth. The grip screws were loose. The sights are very nice. The FO front light stick will be swapped with new. Not as bright since it appears older and a little oxidized.
I bought an extra mag. It uses a PARA 14 mag. There are two models, one for use "with magwell" and one for "without magwell". Either work with my magwell. One has a thicker base plate making it longer. I guess so it sticks out a little to pull in the event your mag is stuck? Same capacity just $15 dollars more. Shorter one sits flush but can still grab it. The factory mag blues and is ok but the para is better quality at around $24.
Wife and I shot 100 rds. Both of us loved it and shoots as well as the Colt and Kimber Pro Carry. It is heavy in a good way that is great for a softer, faster followup and better than expected. It is a gentle giant with 230 gr ball fmj. POA is POI for my wife at 10,15, and 25yrds. I would play with the rear sight adjustment a little, but it's hers.
We are extremely pleased with this firearm. It is great out of the box and it is an excellent platform for a top notch race gun build as well.

RIA Big Iron
The pistol was shipped and arrived faster than any other company i've done business with.
Once the oil bath(removal) was complete i put 100 rounds through it using 5 different types, weights and brands of bullets. No malfunctions.
Only complaint was the misrepresentation of the advertised grips. There must be a government official working in the process.

Great value!
The RIA is right up there with the PARA Expert HC. It is a little rougher in tooling, and it does not have the same quality match barrel. The great thing is the price!! It is a fine quality "carry" double stack, and you can not go wrong buying one. I have purposed that the Texas Rangers make this pistol the main line duty weapon for the field. It is accurate, reliable, and has a great customer service backing by RIA.
